Have you ever felt stuck in a rut, waking up each day with the nagging feeling that something needs to change, but not knowing where to start?

That was me just a few months ago. I knew I wanted more out of life, but the thought of transforming my entire existence felt overwhelming. So, I set myself a challenge: to change my life in 90 days. It wasn’t about drastic measures or overnight miracles; it was about taking small, intentional steps every single day. And let me tell you, those 90 days made all the difference.

In this post, I’m going to share the exact steps I took to shift my mindset, revamp my routines, and start living the life I always wanted. If you're ready to turn things around, let's dive in together!

A few months ago, before starting the challenge, I found myself trapped in a rabbit hole of endlessly consuming content and comparing myself to others, all while my goals remained on hold. When I looked at my life, I didn’t see the growth or success I wanted. Yet, I kept indulging in that cycle, unable to break free, as if something was holding me back.

I had big goals but wasn’t making any progress—it felt like I was just running in circles.

One day, I checked my YouTube activity and was shocked to see that in the last 7 days, I had spent 20 hours consuming content I didn’t even need. It only made me stressed and anxious. That was the moment I asked myself, “How many more days will I spend watching other people achieve their goals without taking action on my own?”

That day, I decided to change my life. I wanted to be the creator, not the consumer. I wanted to make progress every day, even if it was small. I wanted to feel like I was actually doing something meaningful.

So, I made a deal with myself to commit to my goals for 90 days. Here are the steps I took:

Phase 1: Reflection & Reevaluation

In this phase, I removed all distractions. I sat down with my journal and pen and started writing—reflecting on my life and pouring out all the thoughts that were worrying me. I asked myself these questions:

  • What do I really want to achieve in life?

  • Am I truly doing anything to reach those goals?

  • Why am I unable to take action?

  • If I imagine myself 5 years from now, what do I want my life to look like?

  • What habits or routines are holding me back?

  • What does success mean to me, and why do I want it?

  • What activities or people are draining my energy, and how can I minimize their impact?

  • What do I need to let go of in order to move forward?

  • What skills or knowledge do I need to acquire to reach my goals?

  • What would my ideal day look like, and how far is it from my current reality?

  • How can I measure my progress, and what milestones would make me feel accomplished?

After finishing that reflection session, I felt clear about what I wanted and what was holding me back. It was as if a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. The importance of taking time to reflect and have an honest conversation with yourself cannot be overstated.

When you take the time to sit down, ask yourself the tough questions, and truly listen to your inner voice, you gain clarity. You start to see your life for what it is—both the good and the bad—and, more importantly, you begin to understand what steps you need to take to move forward. Reflection is the foundation for growth; it’s where change begins. It’s a powerful way to realign with your goals and set a clear path forward. Without that inner dialogue, it's easy to stay stuck in the same patterns, but with it, you can start to reshape your life with intention.

I realized that understanding my goals and the obstacles in my way was just the beginning. Reflection gave me direction, but now it was time to take action. This led me to Phase 2: Setting Intentional Goals & Building Better Habits.

Phase 2: Setting Intentional Goals & Building Better Habits

It was time to move from reflection to action. I needed to put all that clarity into practice. My next step was to create a clear and focused plan that would guide me through the next 90 days. Instead of overwhelming myself with long-term goals, I decided to concentrate on what I could realistically achieve within that timeframe. By focusing on just 90 days, I found it easier to stay motivated and committed, knowing that real, tangible progress was within reach.

I carefully defined my top goals for the next 90 days and used Notion, my go-to planning tool, to outline and track them. (You can grab the template I use for free here!)

With my goals in place, I then created an action plan by breaking them down into monthly and weekly goals. I focused on the first month, knowing that at the end of each month, I'd reassess and set new goals that aligned with my overall 90-day objectives.

With that, I had an action plan to ensure I achieved my goals. The next step was to establish daily habits that aligned with those goals. This led me to create a routine and a weekly schedule. By doing so, I ensured that my daily actions consistently moved me closer to my desired outcomes. It was crucial for me to adopt healthy and positive habits that would support my goals and avoid falling back into old habits that could slow my progress.

The next critical phase was to regularly review and adjust my approach.

Phase 3: Review & Adjust

In this phase, I closely examined what was working and what wasn’t. If I encountered any roadblocks or found that certain strategies weren’t delivering the results I hoped for, I made adjustments. This might have meant tweaking my daily habits, adjusting my goals, or trying a different approach.

The goal here was to stay flexible and responsive. It wasn’t about being perfect but about staying in tune with what I needed to keep moving forward. By regularly reviewing and adjusting, I maintained my momentum, celebrated my wins, learned from setbacks, and ensured I was always progressing toward my goals. This ongoing process kept me motivated and made sure I was making the most of my 90-day challenge.

As we wrap up, remember that changing your life isn’t a quick fix—it’s a journey. The steps I’ve shared—reflecting on your goals, making a plan, building daily habits, and regularly checking your progress—are all key to making real change.

Here’s what you can do starting today: Take a moment to think about what you truly want to achieve. Set your top goals for the next 90 days and break them down into smaller monthly and weekly targets. Use a tool like Notion or a physical planner to keep track of everything. Establish daily habits that support your goals and schedule regular times to review your progress. If something isn’t working, don’t be afraid to adjust your plan.

By taking these steps, you’ll be on your way to creating the life you dream of. So, dive in today, stay focused, and keep moving forward. You’re on the path to success, and you’re more than capable of reaching your goals!
